Measuring for a Collar
I will need your dogs mid neck measurement for all collars. (Close to the skin, following the Red Line.)
If you are ordering a slip on house collar or martingale for a Bull breed or wider skull dog then you should add a couple of inches so the collar can easily go over their head. Alternatively measure round the head, (Green Line), and use the larger of the red or green measurements to select the right size.
For example if ordering a 16" martingale/house collar. This will expand to 18" to go over the head and ears. If a circumference of 20" is needed for clearance then the neck size to order would be 18". It will still reduce to fit a 16" neck.

Slip On House Collar (below).
Used for all breeds and available in all widths. Slip on over the head and adjust down. These are great for tag collars or for attaching a lead to for walks.
I can add a side release buckle clip (1 inch wide only) if you wish to make it easier to fit, or your dog is not keen on having a collar slipped over their head. Just select this on the drop down menu when ordering.
Martingale collar (below)
Used primarily for sighthounds, and usually 1.5 inch to 2 inch width so as to be gentle on the delicate neck area. But I can make these in a 1 inch width too, so as to be suitable for most breeds.
These are generally safer than regular house collars, but no collar is totally escape proof. To ensure your dog is completely safe, combine a collar with one of my Safe Haven Escape Proof Harnesses and a splitter lead or one of my leads with a locking carabiner. Available to purchase alongside all my products.
The larger loop slips over your dogs head and fits round the neck, adjusting the fit down so that when the collar is pulled tight with the D ring on the smaller loop, the collar is tight enough so not to slip over the head, but at the same time won't tighten too much. Always adjust to fit the top of the neck, where it is slimmer, or your collar will be too loose.
For some dogs with large heads, it may be necessary to adjust the collar each time it is slipped on.
